If you ask me how I got here, I will tell you "the stars aligned". Life has a way of getting you to the right place. And I deeply and truly believe I am exactly in the right place!
This was my first class I ever taught at UM and it has to be my favorite. The class is different every term. I bring in entrepreneurs and the students work on real-world projects. This class is the perfect synergy between my career at UM and my marketing agency. This is where innovation, growth and boundless possibilities are born.
When you teach Digital Marketing, endless scrolling on IG legitimately becomes part of your job. Imagine my hours! This is a very hands on course where the students develop and publish full-scale social media campaigns. It's a winner!
All the basics. This is often the students' first introduction to many marketing concepts. I have found that discussing familiar brands really drives home a lot of these principles. My favorite brand: Coke.
It's the digital age and UM is at the forefront. I wrote and teach UM's Online MBA Marketing course. One thing about online: you can't hide in the back of the classroom.
Talking to the C-Suite is exciting and challenging. Putting theory into practice and working together to arrive at real world solutions.
International business is a major focus at the University. I serve as a faculty director as a group of students take on projects from Fortune 500 companies participating in international business.
So I went to Exeter. But not as a student: as an educator seeking wisdom from other educators. Quite possibly one of the most important moments in my career. I teach a class on the Harkness Method (originated at Exeter), where students learn directly from one another. I lead discussions and help develop ideas...and I get to watch learning magic happen.
Over the summer, UM invites select high school students to participate in the Summer Scholars program. They get the chance to come to campus to be in school for three very full weeks. I don't know what's wrong with them! Just kidding. These are the brightest, most inspiring young people I've seen. It is an honor to be a part of this moment in their lives.
I have some really endeavoring students. Really motivated "change the world" types. And whatever they bring to me, I say "yeah, I support you on this". Well, the idea of creating a student run marketing agency was just that. It's still taking shape, but it exists because of some very amazing students.
Consistently get pretty awesome reviews from the bright young minds that come visit my classroom. They inspire me...and sometimes I do the same.
A sisterhood like no other. My Zeta sisters have been pivotal in many of my successes...namely this one here at the U. Wear the crown!
"The Highest Honor Attained at the University of Miami". I was tapped as an undergrad. Humbling circle of wildly talented people.
